I am interested in joining the Cayman Reef Redevelopment Committee. I feel I can represent your interests well and would appreciate your support. I have been an owner at Cayman Reef since 2007 and actually lived at Cayman Reef from 2003 until 2017 when we moved into a house on the Island. I have been significantly involved in Cayman Reef ExCo over this period of time so I feel I know the complex well and its history.
I am a Canadian Chartered Accountant by background and currently own a company in the Cayman Islands providing services to hedge funds. This involves oversight of the governance structures of entities so I am habitual in looking to constituent documents for guidance and implementing clear written policies and procedures, agreements, by-laws, etc to aid in decision making. My background has given me significant experience in financial modeling and financial projections which I feel would be an asset to the Redevelopment Committee with my ability to analyze projects. My day job also means that I spend a lot of time reviewing and negotiating legal contracts. I had a lot of feedback on the Process Agreement for both our lawyer and the developer's lawyer and would like to see that process through.
I also own a property management company on island and 8 vacation rental condos at Cayman Reef. I am actively involved in the management of those condos on a daily basis. I think this experience would serve our committee well as I have learned what suits people well for their vacation homes. I anticipate most of the new owners of a redeveloped complex will be similar to our current owners in that they will either use their condos as vacation homes which they will either rent out when not in use or leave vacant until they visit again.
